Wat er volgde wordt het 'Nanking Massacre' genoemd;
dit was een periode van een aantal weken waarin
tienduizenden Chinese soldaten en burgers vermoordt
werden. We krijgen verschillende personages te zien,
waaronder een Chinese soldaat, een leraar, een Japanse
soldaat en John Rabe, een nazi-zakenman, die de mensen
die omgekomen zijn in het bloedbad, wilde redden.
