Closing Note: (( Turn OFF de-blocking )), which is often simply referred to as post-processing, when playing ANY AVC/MPEG4v10/H264 video, not just DigitalVHS files, for it will ALWAYS lower the video quality, and usually by a significant amount (short explanation: unlike Xvid/DivX AVC has built-in deblocking). Brightness, gamma, file grain ... are all OK.
