Ashlee Nicolle Simpson [born October 3rd 1984 in Waco, Texas] is an American pop rock singer-songwriter, and occasional actress. Simpson, who is the younger sister of pop singer Jessica Simpson, rose to prominence in mid-2004 through the success of her debut album Autobiography, which debuted at number one in the U.S. in July 2004 with first week sales numbering around 398,000 copies and was certified triple platinum in September 2004, and the accompanying reality series The Ashlee Simpson Show. Following a North American concert tour and a film appearance, Simpson released a second No.1 album, I Am Me, in October 2005.

Bittersweet World is the third studio album by singer Ashlee Simpson. It was released in the United States on April 22nd 2008. Simpson worked on the album with producers Timbaland, Chad Hugo, and Kenna. It has been described by Simpson as a \'fun party album\' with a \'silly and quirky\' side and some influence from 1980s music. She has also described it as having a more beat-oriented sound than her first two albums, Autobiography and I Am Me, although still retaining some of those albums guitar-based sound. Outta My Head [Ay Ya Ya] is the first single from Bittersweet World, produced by Timbaland, King Logan and Jerome Harmon, to be released in the UK on May 19th 2008. This UK Edition of the album includes three bonus tracks taken from her previous albums.
