SINOPSIS: Mezcla de personajes reales y dibujos animados. Cuando el ex-presidiario y dibujante Jack Deebs (Gabriel Byrne) se encontraba entre rejas, descubrió un modo de evadirse creando Cool World, una serie de cómics con una voluptuosa protagonista llamada Holli Would. Pero el dibujante acaba siendo prisionero de sus propias fantasías cuando Holli le arrastra a Cool World, con intención de seducirle y así convertirse ella en un ser real. Un duro detective (Brad Pitt), el otro ser real de Cool World, advierte a Jack de la ley: los Noids (humanos) no pueden tener sexo con los Doodles (dibujos). Y a pesar de todo la carne demuestra que es más débil que la tinta, pues Holli acaba adquiriendo forma humana (Kim Basinger) en Las Vegas, comenzando una persecución a través de distintas dimensiones que amenaza con la destrucción de ambos mundos.
