Doctor Who at the BBC Radiophonic Workshop
Volume 1: The Early Years (1963-1969)
[2005/FLAC/CUE/Scans]
Originally released in 2000 on the BBC Music label, re-released in 2005 on the Grey Area of Mute (from which this is sourced).
The first in a series of compilations of Doctor Who material recorded by the BBC Radiophonic Workshop. Compiled and remastered by Mark Ayres, the album features mostly sound effects and atmospheres from the first six years of the programme. Although some incidental music tracks do appear, most of the album's content is by original Doctor Who sound effects creator Brian Hodgson. The compilation also features three Radiophonic Workshop realisations of early Doctor Who composer Dudley Simpson's work.
INCLUDES: CD Art and sleeve notes scans (CBR @ 150dpi / JPG @ 600dpi) and new 2008 remastered CD art (an improvement on my previous effort - JPG @ 600dpi - comparisons included in CBR file).
RIP NOTES: Ripped with Exact Audio Copy, converted with WinLAME (all filters disabled for richer bass sound). All tracks (except 61 - Muzak (from 'Time in Advance') are in mono, and have been converted as such (1 Channel/Mono MP3 @ 160kbps, the equivalent of 2 Channel/Stereo MP3 @ 320kbps). All MP3 files have been ID3 tagged, each with their own artist, composer and year.
