Na het enorme succes van High School Musical is het niet meer dan logisch dat er een soortgelijke film gemaakt zou worden. En die heet Camp Rock.

De film Camp Rock gaat over een tienermeisje dat dolgraag haar zomer wil doorbrengen op een rockkamp. Maar ze kan er alleen bij zijn als ze als kok in de keuken gaat werken tijdens het kamp. Als ze op een avond in haar eentje aan het zingen is, hoort popidool Shane Gray dit. Hij gaat achter haar aan en wil dolgraag weten wie het meisje achter deze mooie stem is.

In Camp Rock geen Zac Efron, maar wel drie hotties: de Jonas Brothers. Vanaf vrijdag 13 juni ligt het tweede album van deze jongens in de Nederlandse winkels. Het nummer S.O.S. kwam al eerder in de TMF Your Superchart binnen op nummer 4. 20 juni staan de Jonas Brothers in het voorprogamma van Avril Lavigne in de HMH.

De Jonas Brothers bestaan uit Joe (18), Nick (15) en Kevin (20). De liedjes die ze maken zijn verschillend. Het ene nummer is heel gevoelig (Hello Beautiful en When you look me in the eyes), het andere juist weer wat ruiger (Hold on). Volgens de Jonas Brothers wordt het nummer Burnin' Up het belangrijkste nummer van hun nieuwe album. Love Bug wordt de tweede single en daar hoor je Joe tapdansen! Het nummer A little bit longer heeft Nick geschreven en gaat over wat hij voelde toen hij drie jaar geleden te horen kreeg dat hij diabetes heeft. Helaas zijn deze drie nummers liedjes van hun derde album en die komt voorlopig nog niet uit in Nederland. De Jonas Brothers zeiden laatst in een interview dat ze verbaasd waren over de hoeveelheid fanspullen. "Er bestaan zelfs shirts opgedragen aan onze jongste broertje Franky. Bonus Jonas staat er dan op!"

Op 20 juni gaat de film in Amerika in première. Waarschijnlijk kan je 'm in september in Nederland bekijken.

Camp Rock tells the rock n' roll Cinderella story of Mitchie Torres (Demi Lovato), a teen with an amazing voice and a driving ambition to be a pop singer who wants to spend her summer at a prestigious rock camp. Unfortunately, an expensive music camp is a bit out of reach for her family, but her mother gets a job as Camp Rock's cook so that Mitchie can attend as long as she helps out in the kitchen between classes. Befriended by fellow camp member Caitlyn (Alyson Stoner) but intimidated by the immensely talented Tess Tyler (Meaghan Jette Martin) and her friends Peggy (Jasmine Richards) and Ella (Anna Maria Perez de Tagle), Mitchie lives a double life hiding that she is the cook's daughter and posing as a well-to-do camper in order to become part of the hottest clique at camp. When she's overheard singing, but not seen, by teen pop star and celebrity camp instructor, plus lead singer of Connect Three, Shane Gray (Joe Jonas), he is completely taken and sets out to find the girl behind the beautiful voice. Meanwhile, Mitchie will have to learn how to confront her fears, step out of the kitchen and into the spotlight as herself.
