No matter how hard you look into the international market, you won\'t find another Depeche Mode concept album that will bring out their warmth and variety as much as \"Around The World And Back\". Perhaps because Hysterica fan club\'s initiative for the creation of a Depeche Mode tribute album started four whole years ago in Giorgos Geranios\' mind. Perhaps it\'s also because the names participating in this album vary so much between them that obliterate any gnome regarding how \"blinded\" electroheads and moreover Depeche Mode fans are....

This Greek tribute to Depeche Mode comes in a wonderful packaging with seventeen different postcards -one for each song that\'s on this album, along with a photographic theme- abstractive and postmodern, framed by the lyrics. And whoever expects the obvious choices won\'t find them all: it isn\'t only the singles and mega hits that have turned Depeche Mode into a somewhat religious devotion-worship subject, but also their album tracks or b-sides. In addition, more often than not, their charm has a special place particularly in those ones.

Faithful to the group\'s electro aesthetic, Mikro (evenly consistent in \"World In My Eyes\"), Marsheaux (calm and cool in the new-romantic anthem \"New Life\"), Atria (aggressive in \"Photographic\"), Fotonovela (Nikos Bitzenis\' and Giorgos Geranios\' italo alter-ego hand out a melodic \"But Not Tonight\" having removed the epic element), Dimitris Korgialas (futuristic euro glam in \"Halo\"), Decode (dark and with a sensation of solemnity in \"Behind The Wheel\") and Carpe Diem (closing the album with an instrumental melancholic version of \"Clean\").
