This application is a decorator's dream, effortlessly adding
animated "wallpaper" themes to a desktop computer. We were
impressed with its functionality and seemingly invisible
operation--despite actions that would appear to use a lot of
memory and become a drag on performance. Moderndesktop works
quietly in the background without taking up too many system
resources, unless OpenGL is required to run the animation (and
even so, it's not crippling.) The program does support DirectX
and OpenGL driver sets. While the program comes with six themes,
you can set Flash files as animated wallpaper as well. It is
easy to use, and most commands and functions are immediately
accessible and understandable. Overall, Moderndesktop is a neat
way to jazz up your screen.
