OK, they're an English (Rock) Band formed around 1997. I say 'Rock' band but here's a band that actually blends flavours from progressive rock, alternative, electronica/dance and classical (yes classical). This somewhat eclectic, no flexible mix makes them a 'different' band and successfully avoids the 'derivative' tag often associated with people trying to make a legitimate name for themselves.
I think Black Holes and Revelations is by far the best thing they've done. The album was nominated for the 2006 Mercury Prize, only being pipped at the post by the Arctic Monkeys. They also won the Best Alternative and Best Live Act awards at the 2006 MTV European Music Video Awards

If you liked their previous outings and don't have this then you'll be ecstatic, if you haven't liked their previous work and haven't heard this because of that then this'll make you ecstatic. It's an ambitious album that's truly a pleasure to listen to.
